Concept
Fefu and Her Friends showcases a group of women influenced by, accepting, and rejecting the larger culture’s understanding of women. The scenic design emphasizes this greater societal pressure and performance through a set that is broken down and see through. Traverse staging furthers this by creating a voyeuristic dynamic between the audience and the actor, as well as the audience and itself.
Painting
Directional scumble technique was used to create the parquet flooring. Once the base was done, the planks of wood were lined with brown paint. Finally, the floor was finished with an orange tinted sealant.

About
